Additional Information
Your local action helps make a global impact in the fight to end human trafficking! Date: Saturday (tomorrow), October 14th Time: 10:30AM, registration opens at 10AM Location: The CLT Hub - 750 W Morehead Street Parking: There is a paid surface lot very close to the venue. The address to put into your GPS is 624 S Cedar Street. There are also other paid lots and street parking around the venue that you are welcome to find and park in, just be mindful that some may be specifically tied to a nearby establishment so parking there might be prohibited. Look for any signage to know if public parking is allowed. When in doubt, we will have some greeters at The CLT Hub who can point you in the right direction. Clothing: We will be walking just under 2 miles so definitely wear comfortable clothes for that. As a unifying element to the event, we ask that all participants wear black. If you did not get a chance to order merch in time for you to have it tomorrow, we will have merch available for purchase during check-in/registration. *RAIN PLAN: We will be having the event rain or shine! As of right now, it looks like the rain should clear by the time we start walking but, just in case Charlotte has any surprises for us, come prepared! Coffee: Our host at the CLT Hub said he should have a coffee vendor on site so there should be coffee available for purchase during check-in/registration. Walk Etiquette: We will be walking silently in a single-file line, mirroring the hundreds of other walks taking place all over the globe (some even happening as you're reading this email!). You are welcome to bring earbuds/headphones to listen to the Walk For Freedom podcast, which will give you a lot of great insight and information into the "why" behind the Walk and A21's global mission. If you do, please stay alert and have the volume low enough to still hear things going on around you. We will be walking on public sidewalks alongside Uptown streets so it's important to prioritize safety for the sake of yourself and those around you. *Posters: We will have several posters dispersed throughout the line tomorrow. You are welcome to bring your own to take photos with before or after the walk however we do ask, again, for the sake of unity and cohesiveness across all the walks globally, that only A21-approved signs be taken with us during the walk itself. Connecting with A21: Our team will be around in red lanyards before and after the walk and are happy to connect with you so come with any questions you have about human trafficking in Charlotte/the US, A21's vision and mission, how you can further get educated/involved, etc. We would LOVE to chat with you and hear about why you chose to walk.
