Q. What is the Global Freedom Summit Presentation about this year?
A: This year, we’re taking a bold stand against the growing crisis of online child sexual exploitation.

Q. What is online child sexual exploitation?
A: Online sexual exploitation covers a range of illicit activities, including the creation, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse images (CSAM), sextortion, and grooming or enticing a child to engage in sexually prohibited activity, among others.

Q. What should I do if I become aware of child or adult sexual abuse or exploitation?
A: If you become aware of child or adult sexual abuse or exploitation, including videos or images or other credible related information, here are action steps you can take:

  • If you believe someone is in immediate danger, report the person and the incident to local law enforcement immediately.
  • Contact The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST or CyberTipline.org.
  • Hotline numbers and reporting procedures vary across countries, states, and provinces. It is important to check the requirements in your area and contact the relevant authority that handles human trafficking, online child exploitation, or other child protection issues. Some additional hotline information available here.
  • If you work in a school, business, faith-based organization, or community organization, follow your workplace's reporting policies.

Important Note: If you become aware of child sexual abuse or exploitation material, including videos or images, do not delete them and do not share, forward, or distribute the material to anyone, including others in your workplace or household. Immediately report the incident to an agency with expertise in your area.

You may be asked to physically take the image or device (i.e., phone, computer) to an authorized person, such as the police, and only forward it if law enforcement or another official asks you to do so.
