**Join the Fight Against Human Trafficking! ** 2024 marks the 3rd annually event that is hosted in Orange City, Iowa. We invite you to stand with us in the global fight against human trafficking by participating in A21’s annual "Walk for Freedom." This impactful event will be held at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, and we need YOU to make a difference. Date: Fall of 2024 (Exact date TBD based on college schedules) Location: Northwestern College, Orange City, IA Time: 10:00AM. The event lasts approximately 1 to1.5 hours **Dress in black** to honor the millions of unseen victims of human trafficking and show solidarity in our mission to end this injustice. Together, we will walk in silence, raising awareness and amplifying the voices of those who cannot speak for themselves. Drinks and light refreshments will be provided to all participants. Your presence matters—let’s take a stand and make freedom possible for everyone. In Iowa, human trafficking is a significant issue affecting communities across the state. The Iowa Office to Combat Human Trafficking reports that this crime occurs in various settings, from behind closed doors to public spaces, and it can affect anyone regardless of background. Recent efforts have trained and certified nearly 700 lodging properties and over 22,500 staff members to identify and report human trafficking cases​ (Iowa Department of Public Safety). The Network Against Human Trafficking and Slavery highlights that human trafficking in Iowa includes both sex and labor trafficking, and cases often go unreported due to fear, manipulation, and lack of awareness among victims​ (NoToTrafficking). These statistics underscore the importance of community awareness and involvement, making events like the "Walk for Freedom" crucial in the fight against this pervasive crime.
